Carbon Reduction Plan
Supplier name: YIOSHI LTD (trading as devroom)
Publication date: 28 June 2026
Commitment to achieving Net Zero
YIOSHI LTD (trading as devroom) is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, in line with the UK Government’s legally binding target under the Climate Change Act 2008 (as amended).
As a fully remote digital services company with three permanent staff and no physical premises, our absolute emissions are already very low. We recognise this does not remove our responsibility to measure, manage and reduce our impact, and to be transparent with our clients and contracting authorities.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced before the introduction of strategies to reduce emissions. They are the reference point against which emissions reduction is measured.
As YIOSHI LTD has not previously assessed or reported emissions, the financial year 2024 (January to December 2024) has been used as the first reporting period and is therefore the baseline year.
Baseline year: 2024
YIOSHI LTD operates as a fully remote company with no owned or leased premises, no company vehicle fleet and no on-site energy consumption. Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are therefore zero. Scope 3 emissions have been calculated across three material categories: Category 1 (purchased goods and services, including hardware and cloud/SaaS subscriptions), Category 6 (business travel by rail and air) and Category 7 (employee home working, including a proportional allocation of home electricity and heating). Emissions factors are drawn from the UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting (DESNZ/DBET, 2024).
| Emissions | Total (tCO2e) |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 0.00 |
| Scope 2 | 0.00 |
| Scope 3 (included sources) | 2.10 |
| Total emissions | 2.10 |
Current emissions reporting
Reporting year: 2025
A marginal reduction from the 2024 baseline has been achieved, mainly through less business travel and continued use of cloud infrastructure hosted in data centres with renewable energy commitments.
| Emissions | Total (tCO2e) |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 | 0.00 |
| Scope 2 | 0.00 |
| Scope 3 (included sources) | 1.95 |
| Total emissions | 1.95 |
Emissions reduction targets
To continue our progress to Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 1.00 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of approximately 52% against our 2024 baseline.
Milestone targets:
- 2026: reduce total emissions to ≤1.80 tCO2e (−14% vs baseline)
- 2028: reduce total emissions to ≤1.40 tCO2e (−33% vs baseline)
- 2030: reduce total emissions to ≤1.00 tCO2e (−52% vs baseline)
- 2050: Net Zero, with all residual emissions offset through verified carbon credits
Carbon reduction projects
Completed carbon reduction initiatives
The following environmental management measures have been implemented since the 2024 baseline. Together they contribute a reduction of approximately 0.15 tCO2e (approximately 7%) against the 2024 baseline. These measures will be in effect when performing the contract.
- Fully remote working model (since inception). YIOSHI LTD has operated as a fully remote company from inception, removing employee commuting emissions entirely. Commuting is typically one of the largest controllable sources of Scope 3 emissions for service companies. This model is part of our employment contracts and will continue for the duration of any contract awarded.
- Cloud-native infrastructure (no on-premises servers). All computing and hosting infrastructure is provided through major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure), whose data centres operate significant renewable energy programmes. This avoids the embodied carbon and operating emissions of on-premises hardware.
- No company vehicle fleet. YIOSHI LTD has no company vehicles. All business travel uses public transport (rail by default, with air travel avoided where feasible). This removes all Scope 1 transport emissions.
- Paperless operations. YIOSHI LTD operates entirely digitally, with no office printing, physical filing or paper-based processes. All documents, contracts and deliverables are produced and stored electronically.
Future carbon reduction initiatives
In the future, YIOSHI LTD intends to implement the following additional measures:
- Green energy tariff incentive: formally encourage and, where possible, subsidise staff switching their home energy tariffs to 100% renewable electricity suppliers, reducing Category 7 (homeworking) Scope 3 emissions.
- Carbon-aware cloud region selection: adopt a policy of selecting low-carbon cloud regions when procuring or deploying infrastructure, using published carbon intensity data from cloud providers.
- Hardware lifecycle extension policy: formalise a minimum 4-year device refresh cycle to reduce the embodied carbon of hardware procurement (Category 1 Scope 3).
- Annual carbon footprint review: commission an annual third-party review of our emissions figures to ensure accuracy and identify further reduction opportunities as the company grows.
- Verified carbon offset scheme: from 2030, offset all residual emissions through a verified scheme (for example Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard) to support our pathway to Net Zero by 2050.
Declaration and sign-off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard, and use the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
